I love to entertain and inform — many have not been to a classical guitar concert — so it's great to be an "ambassador" for the art form. In addition to straight classical music, if the job requires being more general fingerstyle, I get to choose from a wide variety of pieces from different styles, continents and eras.
For six years until the Pandemic shut down restaurants, I maintained a second Saturday three-hour evening gig near my home in Folsom at the Bacchus House Wine Bar and Bistro, pictured here. Of course keeping a packed restaurant full of diners both indoors and outside happy was the job, and I did my best to cover a wide sampling of classical, folk, jazz, flamenco, pop covers and originals and get the job done. Six years steady employment indicates success.
Everything is done on an excellent, fifty-year-old nylon string classical guitar run through an excelllent amplification system. Compliments on the tone and sound are common, and the volume is always appropriate to the occasion.
Whether it's a concert for a crowd of any size or music for a cocktail hour, consider a veteran classical guitarist for your next special event.
